A 14-year-old boy has been formally charged following an armed robbery at a service station in Port Lincoln, South Australia.
Authorities were called to the King Street premises around 12:30 am after reports that a suspect had allegedly brandished a knife, threatening staff and demanding money.
The individual is said to have fled the scene with a small sum of cash and confectionery before police arrived. Fortunately, no staff members were physically harmed during the incident.
Following a swift search of the surrounding area, officers discovered a teenager hiding on London Street. A knife was later recovered from beneath a nearby truck.
The suspect, a Port Lincoln resident, has been charged with robbery and denied police bail. He is set to appear before the Adelaide Youth Court via video link today.
