The Fair Work Commission has announced a 2.5 per cent increase in the minimum wage and related award minimum wages.
- The minimum wage has been increased to $20.33 per hour
- Award wage increases in some COVID-affected industries have been delayed by three to five months
- The increase is below typical 3-3.5 per cent minimum wage rises and includes no “catch up” for last year’s COVID reduced increase of 1.75 per cent
This will take the minimum wage for Australia’s lowest-paid workers to $20.33 an hour, or $772.60 a week for full-time workers.
It will mean an extra $18.80 a week for Australia’s lowest-paid full-time workers.
Changes will come into effect for the first pay period on or after the 1st of July 2021.
The Fair Work Commission will provide updates to the Award affecting the petrol and convenience industry closer to the end of the financial year.
As soon as we receive the updated awards they will be made available to ServoPro members in our members portal.
