A group of youths who allegedly stole drinks and lollies from a service station and assaulted a cashier will front the Whyalla Youth Court in May.
Police will allege that just after 4pm on Saturday, March 13, seven youths entered a Whyalla service station on McRitchie Crescent and stole drinks and lollies.
As they were leaving the servo one person from the group assaulted the cashier by hitting her on the back of the head. The cashier was not injured as a result of the incident.
The group ran off, and on reviewing the CCTV, police arrested five of the youths the same day and two youths on Sunday.
A 13- year-old boy from Whyalla has been charged with assault and theft.
An 11-year-old, 12-year-old and two 15-year old girls and an 11-year-old and a 14-year-old boy all from Whyalla have been charged with theft.
They have all been bailed to appear in the Whyalla Youth Court on May 5.
