Detectives have charged a woman as part of ongoing investigations into an armed robbery at a service station in Sydney’s south-west earlier this month.
About 10pm on Saturday 2 January 2021, two men – armed with a hammer and a knife – entered a service station on Ballantrae Drive, St Andrews.
One man allegedly used a hammer to smash several display cabinets in the service station, while the second allegedly threatened two employees.
The pair stole cigarettes and cash before leaving the scene in a grey vehicle.
There were no reports of physical injuries during either incident.
Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command, together with detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad, commenced an investigation into the incident.
Earlier this month, detectives seized a grey Hyundai i30, and arrested a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy. The teenagers were charged and remain before the courts.
Following further inquiries, detectives arrested an 18-year-old woman at Meadowbank about 11am yesterday (Friday 22 January 2021).
She was taken to Ryde Police Station and charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon.
Police will allege in court the woman was the driver of a getaway vehicle used following the armed robbery at St Andrews.
She was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court later today (Saturday 23 January 2021).
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
