Volkswagen has partnered with Ampol to offer discounted rates for electric car owners who use Ampol’s expanding recharging network and home EV charger installation packages.
Through this program, Volkswagen electric vehicle (EV) customers will benefit from reduced Ampol public charging rates for the first 12 months of ownership. The specific prices will be revealed closer to the arrival of these vehicles in local showrooms later this year.
This initiative will complement Volkswagen’s more than 100 dealerships across Australia, which will also be equipped with fast chargers for new models, including:
– VW ID.4 SUV
– VW ID.4 GTX Performance SUV
– VW ID.5 SUV Coupe
– VW ID.5 GTX Performance SUV Coupe
– VW ID.Buzz (electric Kombi)
– VW ID.Buzz Cargo (electric Kombi delivery van)
Volkswagen Australia emphasises that the Ampol partnership is “absolutely crucial” for achieving its aim to have electric vehicle sales surpass those of petrol and diesel vehicles by 2028.
The rates for Ampol’s public vehicle charging will be announced in the second half of 2024 before Volkswagen launches its electric car range.
