Two teens arrested after alleged late-light armed robbery

A service station worker has been held at knifepoint during an alleged late-night armed robbery of two teens arrested robbery in east Darwin.

two teens arrested robbery following the incident after they allegedly entered a Puma service station in Berrimah about 9pm on Wednesday wielding a knife.

Police said the two 14-year-olds allegedly threatened the worker with the knife before fleeing with thousands of dollars in cash, cigarettes, and tobacco.

Police were alerted to the incident by a witness who saw the youths running down Stuart Hwy.

Shortly after the offenders were found and arrested by the Coonawarra Harvey Norman and remain in police custody.

The pair – who have yet to be charged – are now assisting police with their inquiries.

Police are calling for any witnesses who may have information regarding robbery incident at the Puma service station or possess dashcam footage to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
