A man and a woman are currently being questioned over a service station robbery at Salisbury Downs overnight where cash, cigarettes and mobile phones were stolen.
Just before 3.30am on Thursday 11 July, a person wearing a balaclava entered a service station on the corner of Salisbury Highway and Kings Road, walked behind the counter threatening staff and demanding cash and other items such as cigarettes and mobile phones.
No weapon was sighted during the ordeal but the suspect indicated they had something under their jacket.
The offender left on foot with the stolen items in a bag.
Northern District patrols were quick to set up cordons in the area and called in a police dog patrol.
Police Dog Ben who has been on night shift all week, tracked the suspect to nearby New Hampshire Drive, where he located some of the stolen property under some bushes and a bag containing cash stashed behind a fence along with a knife.
A short time later patrols then detained a 23-year-old woman inside the police cordon, who is believed to be the suspect, she is currently being interviewed over the robbery and expected to be charged.
A man who is an associate of the woman’s was also located nearby, he is also currently being questioned over the incident.
There were no physical injuries in the robbery.
