Three men nabbed over service station crime spree

Three men have been charged over a string of alleged armed robberies across Brisbane, Logan and Ipswich in the past week.

Police say a 28-year-old man was threatened with a gun and assaulted by three people when he pulled up to his house on Wardle Street in Mount Gravatt East about 10.20pm on Friday.

The trio allegedly stole his car and drove to Compton Road at Woodridge where they tried to break into a service station before leaving.

About two hours later, police responded to an armed robbery at a service station in Johnson Road, Hillcrest.

Two people allegedly smashed their way into the service station before threatening the female console operator with a gun and crowbar, stealing cash and cigarettes.

At 2.15am on Saturday, the same group broke into another service station at Capalaba before threatening an attendant with a gun and stealing more cash and cigarettes, police allege.

It will further be alleged just after 3am on Monday two people smashed the glass doors of a Railway Terrace service station at Goodna.

The employee locked herself in a back office while the pair allegedly stole cash registers and fled the scene.

Police tracked the vehicle to Wacol where three men fled on foot before before being arrested nearby.

A 25-year-old Slacks Creek man, an 18-year-old Holland Park man and a 29-year-old Holland Park man have all been charged with armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

All three men appeared in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday and were remanded in custody to reappear on January 30.

Investigations are continuing.
