Thief armed with a hammer robs a Nowra service station

Nowra Police are hunting a thief who held up a Shoalhaven Service station overnight armed with a hammer

The offender hit the Central Nowra BP in Plunkett street just after 9 pm.

He allegedly threatened the attendant, who handed over an undisclosed sum of cash, police said.

Police said the offender is of aboriginal appearance, skinny, and about 5ft 8.

He wore tracksuit pants with blue shorts over the top of them and a dark hoodie with a green cap.

Nowra Police are appealing for public help.
