Teen charged after allegedly punching, spitting on officers at Elizabeth South service station

An Adelaide teenager has been charged after allegedly punching a police officer in the face during a brawl at a service station.

The 15 year old is one of four young women accused of attempting to steal items from the X Convenience store on the Philip Highway at Elizabeth South just before midnight on Monday.

Police say the group became aggressive when confronted by staff.

The teen and the three women – one aged 20 and two aged 23 – were charged with aggravated affray, assaulting a staff member and theft.

During the arrest, police say the Mansfield Park teenager allegedly punched an officer in the face.

She is also accused of spitting on two other officers.

The 15 year old was refused bail and will appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The three other women, from Ingle Farm and Findon, will appear in October.

The police officer who was allegedly assaulted suffered minor facial injuries.
