Supercars Teams Up with BP and Porsche to Electrify Racing

Supercars is thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership with BP and Porsche, marking a significant moment in motorsport history. The all-electric Porsche Taycan GTS will lead the pack as the BP pulse Safety Car at this month’s Thrifty Bathurst 500.

This collaboration introduces Supercars’ first-ever electric Safety Car, showcasing a commitment to innovation and sustainability. When off-duty, the Taycan GTS will recharge at a bp pulse rapid EV charging station conveniently located in the pit lane.

The partnership underscores Supercars’ dedication to sustainability, building upon previous initiatives like adopting BP’s lower carbon Ultimate E75 Racing Fuel and partnering with Entyre for tyre recycling.

With the Taycan GTS boasting up to 440kW of power and speeds of up to 250 km/h, it aligns seamlessly with the high-performance standards of Supercars.

BP’s longstanding association with Supercars continues as the official fuel supplier, now extending to powering the electric revolution with bp pulse EV charging expertise.

Porsche Motorsport Manager Barry Hay expressed excitement at showcasing the Taycan GTS’s technical prowess, affirming Porsche’s tradition of pioneering innovation.

Supercars COO Tim Watsford welcomed the partnership, highlighting its significance in advancing the championship’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.

The Porsche Taycan GTS BP pulse Safety Car will make its debut at the upcoming Bathurst SuperFest, setting the stage for a thrilling era of electric racing in Supercars.
