Police are seeking assistance from the public to identify a man involved in an attempted armed robbery at a Rockhampton service station on Sunday night.
The incident took place around 8.30pm at a service station on the corner of Kent Lane and Albert Street. A man entered the business armed with a hammer and demanded money and cigarettes from a staff member.
Despite his threats, the suspect left empty-handed and fled the scene on foot along Albert Street. No injuries were reported during the incident.
The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 175cm tall, with a solid build. He was wearing dark clothing, including a hooded jacket and a face mask at the time.
Police have released CCTV images of the individual and are urging anyone who recognises the man or may have seen anything suspicious in the area to come forward.
Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and are working to obtain a formal statement from the staff member involved to understand more about what occurred and why the robbery was unsuccessful.
