RAA says SA country petrol too expensive

Petrol prices in regional South Australia are too high, prompting calls for recent cuts to wholesale prices to be passed on.

SA’s Royal Automobile Association says latest figures show wholesale unleaded prices fell by 36.9 cents a litre this month but the average pump price in regional areas only dropped 16.7 cents.

RAA fuel expert Mark Borlace says wholesale price savings need to be passed on to country motorists as the economic impacts worsen due to the coronavirus.

“Adelaide motorists have reaped massive savings at the bowser due to falling oil prices, and RAA believes significant price cuts should also be enjoyed by regional motorists,” Mr Borlace said.

“We have raised our concerns with the ACCC about the slow rate at which fuel cost savings are being passed on to SA motorists.”
