Detectives have released CCTV images to try and track down the thief behind an armed robbery at a Hunter service station earlier this year.
It was around 5:20am on May 27 when a man walked into the Newcastle Road business at East Maitland armed with a tomahawk.
The man, who was wearing a black hooded jumper with a green jacket and baseball cap, then jumped on the counter and demanded cash.
He then threatened a 28-year-old United Petroleum employee, before stealing the cash register drawer and leaving.
The robber was last seen heading west on High Street.
The attendant was shaken but not injured.
Anyone with information which may assist detectives is urged to contact Maitland Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
