Police have arrested a man following a service station robbery at Dublin on Tuesday evening.
Just after 7.45pm on Tuesday 30 June, Gawler patrols were called to the petrol station on Old Port Wakefield Road after reports a man threatened staff with what was suspected to be a firearm wrapped in cloth before stealing an amount of cash.
The suspect was last seen getting into a white utility parked on Port Wakefield Highway and driving off.
Fortunately, the attendant, although shaken up by the incident, was not physically injured.
Acting on information from the public, police attended a Balaklava property just after 5pm yesterday (Wednesday 1 July) and conducted a search locating a white utility along with clothing and a firearm which is alleged to have been used during the robbery. Police also uncovered an amount of ammunition.
The 39-year-old from Balaklava has been charged with commit theft using force, no firearms licence, unregistered firearm, possess a firearm without identifying mark and other offences in relation to insecure ammunition. He has been refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.
