Police charge man after armed robbery – Macquarie Fields

A man has been charged following investigations into an armed robbery at a service station in Macquarie Fields yesterday.

About 1pm Sunday (20 October 2019), police were called to a service station on Harold Street, Macquarie Fields following reports a man allegedly armed with a pistol entered the service station and threatened a female operator.

He allegedly pointed the pistol at the woman and demanded cash. He fled the scene with a small amount of cash.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Following inquiries, police arrested an 18-year-old man at Coronata Way, Macquarie Fields and he was taken to Campbelltown Police Station.

He was charged with robbery whilst armed and possess unregistered pistol.

He was refused bail and will appear in Campbelltown Local Court today (Monday 21 October 2019).
