Police charge Bethania man, 21, after public tip-offs following Waterford service station robbery

Police have charged a 21-year-old Bethania man after an armed robbery at a service station at Waterford yesterday.

The arrest came after a 52-year-old female attendant was threatened with a knife.

The incident happened about midday.

The offender then fled the store on foot with cash.

Reports from members of the public led to police tracking a man to a nearby residence on Huntingdon Street at Bethania. He was arrested without incident shortly after 1pm.

The man was charged with one count of armed robbery and was due to front Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

The service station attendant was not injured in the incident.
