Police arrest ‘aggressive’ man over alleged Perth service station ice cream theft

Police have arrested a “highly aggressive” man who allegedly stole from a Scarborough service station.

Senior Sergeant Craig Wanstall said police issued a move on notice to the 29-year-old Duncraig man in Perth CBD on May 4.

About 9.45pm he was seen allegedly stealing from the BP service station at the corner of Scarborough Beach Road and West Coast Highway.

He said the suspect took an ice cream from the freezer and started eating it in store before putting other items in his jacket and leaving the store without paying.

He tried to return but the staff member locked the doors, and the man then kicked and tried to force open the glass doors.

Sgt Wanstall said the alleged offender was “highly aggressive and alcohol affected” when police arrested him shortly after and charged him with disorderly conduct and stealing.
