Petrol rationing a real risk if Persian Gulf tensions continue

Petrol rationing, not seen since the 1970s, could be coming to a service station near you if tensions continue to escalate in the Persian Gulf and oil supplies are reduced or cut off.

Australia is especially vulnerable to such a possibility because successive governments have allowed the nation’s strategic oil reserve to run down – a problem the current Government is now desperately trying to fix and fix quickly.
