Cadbury has introduced a new mobile-friendly digital platform called Snacking Right for its fans in Australia. Starting from July, QR codes will gradually be seen across the Cadbury chocolate range, and the platform will extend to include additional brands and products later on.
Snacking Right is designed to provide information on recycling and disposing of packaging, reflecting the evolution of local recycling programs and return-to-store options.
The platform also shares details about Cadbury’s unique Dairy Milk blocks that are wrapped in 30 percent recycled content, part of the brand’s broader efforts to back a circular packaging economy.
Darren O’Brien, Mondelēz International’s president for Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, emphasized the company’s aim to foster sustainable snacking in Australia. Unlike other disposal initiatives that have come and gone, Snacking Right serves as Mondelez’s digital avenue for engaging with consumers about sustainability and their collective role in lessening environmental impact.
Snacking Right goes beyond recycling, introducing Cadbury lovers to Mindful Snacking. Developed with the expertise of behavioural scientists and eating specialists, the platform includes tools and activities that encourage enjoying chocolate with more mindfulness, focus, and intent.
The platform also highlights Mondelēz International’s commitment to sustainable sourcing, offering insight into the dairy farming families that supply milk to Cadbury. One feature spotlights farmer Darren Fielding and his family in Tasmania’s North-West, who have supplied Cadbury with fresh milk over three generations. Fielding expressed pride in their long-standing relationship with the brand and looks forward to connecting with customers through the new QR code on packaging.
In addition to dairy farming, Snacking Right provides information about Cocoa Life, Mondelēz International’s sustainable cocoa sourcing program, underlining the company’s efforts to improve farmers’ lives and foster empowered cocoa-growing communities.
