Man wanted over Alberton servo theft

Western District Police are searching for a man wearing a maroon coloured scarf after he stole cash and food from an Alberton service station overnight.

Just before 1am on Friday 17 July, a man entered a service station on Port Road, selected several items of food including potato chips and chocolate and approached the service counter. On being advised of the total cost of the food by the shop assistant, the man demanded cash from the till.

The man was handed a small amount of cash and he left the shop with the money, plus the two bags of food.

There were no weapons sighted and no threats made to shop staff.

The male suspect is described as of Aboriginal appearance between 20-30 years-old, wearing a black hooded top, grey pants, red shoes and a maroon coloured ‘Brisbane Broncos’ scarf.

Police patrols searched the area but the suspect wasn’t located.
