Man Wanted After Knife Assault in Adelaide Service Station

A police search is underway following a violent incident at a small grocery store in Adelaide’s northern suburbs on Saturday afternoon, where a man allegedly attempted to stab another man while armed with a knife.

Emergency crews were called to the area on Spruance Road, Elizabeth East, around 2 pm after reports of an attempted stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found a 56-year-old man from Elizabeth Vale who had reportedly been targeted by an unknown man wielding a knife.

The victim stated that he was approached and threatened before the suspect tried to stab him. CCTV footage from the scene showed the man attempting to defend himself using a guitar. After a brief struggle, the guitar was dropped and then damaged by the attacker, who stomped on it before the fight spilled into a nearby car park.

The incident occurred just outside a local convenience store, which has served the Elizabeth East community for over 20 years. The store owner, who has operated the business for more than two decades, expressed concern about the increasing violence in the area and is now reconsidering whether to continue trading in the suburb.

The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Following the attack, police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have information about the incident or who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the assault to contact police immediately.
