Man threatens staff with axe at Woodville Park service station

Police are searching for a man who threatened staff with an axe at a Woodville Park service station early on Friday morning.

A man carrying an axe threatened staff during a service station robbery at Woodville Park on Friday morning.

Just after 5am, police were called to David Terrace after staff activated a hold up alarm.

A man had entered the service station with an axe and demanded money from the till.

He stole cash and was seen running from the service station north on David Terrace.

Another witness saw him enter a car on Ranelagh St.

Nobody was physically injured in the incident.

Police are urging any witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Meanwhile, a man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a car crashed near Port Augusta.

Just after 3am, police and emergency services were called to Yorkeys Crossing Road, at Emeroo, after a car with five men crashed and rolled.

One passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

He is expected to be flown to the RAH for further treatment.

Yorkeys Crossing Road has reopened.
