Man threatens service station staff with box-cutter knife, demands money in Adelaide’s north

Police are searching for a man who attempted to hold-up a service station in Adelaide’s north overnight.

Police allege the man threatened a staff member from the Main North Rd service station in Smithfield with a box cutter knife.

The man demanded money before he left empty handed and fled the scene on foot, just after 1am this morning.

Patrols set up cordons as Police Dog Zeus searched the area for the suspect but was not located.

The man has been described as Caucasian and about 175cm tall.

His face was mostly covered and was wearing a dark grey hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants, grey sandshoes with white soles and was wearing surgical gloves.

Nobody was injured.
