A Perth man has undergone emergency surgery after a driver’s alleged mistake behind the wheel at a Perth petrol station.
The 28-year-old civil construction worker suffered multiple broken bones and snapped ligaments.
Aaron Bishop underwent surgery at Royal Perth Hospital after a freakish accident at the Caltex service station on Armadale Road near Cockburn Central.
Mr Bishop was standing in the driveway of the service station when the 20-year-old driver of another car slammed into him, pinning him to a steel post.
Major crash investigators said they believed the other driver accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake.
Police are hoping cctv cameras at the station will give them a better idea of what happened.
The driver of the car that hit Mr Bishop has been interviewed but no one has been charged.
