The APCO Foundation recently held its most successful Giving Day to date, raising an impressive $259,531 in support of individuals and families across its service station network. The event, held on 29 July, embraced a fun superhero theme and brought communities together across the region.
The Foundation commits 90 cents from every dollar donated directly to supporting local people in need. Funds raised are used to assist those facing crisis situations such as serious illness, domestic violence, financial hardship, or natural disasters.
This year’s Giving Day saw APCO service stations transformed into superhero-themed headquarters, with staff dressing up and engaging customers throughout the day. The theme helped create a positive and unifying atmosphere, encouraging more people to get involved and donate.
The event’s success was boosted by the support of matching partners who pledged to double every contribution made on the day. This initiative significantly increased the overall impact of community giving.
The APCO Foundation has a long-standing history of supporting grassroots organisations and emergency relief services. Past beneficiaries include Cottage by the Sea, Feed Me Bellarine, and Meli Emergency Relief, among others.
Since its launch in 2013, the Foundation has raised over $2.3 million and distributed more than $1.85 million directly to local communities, with a continued focus on helping those experiencing hardship.
