Freedom Fuels has announced a change to how it supplies fuel in Brisbane as part of a wider plan to build a stronger and more flexible supply network across the East Coast. The update is designed to support long-term reliability and better outcomes for wholesale customers.
What Is Changing
After a detailed commercial review, Freedom Fuels has decided it will finish operations at the Quantem Pinkenba Terminal in January 2026. From February 2026, fuel supply in Southeast Queensland and along the East Coast will continue through a broader mix of third-party terminals, supported by long term supply agreements.
This approach allows Freedom Fuels to spread its operations across multiple locations rather than relying on a single terminal. The result is greater flexibility, improved resilience, and a stronger ability to manage supply during market disruptions.
What This Means for Customers
For delivery customers, there will be no impact on day to day operations. Product quality, ordering processes, invoicing, and customer contacts will all remain the same.
Customers who currently collect fuel from the Pinkenba terminal will be transitioned to alternative terminals. Freedom Fuels will work directly with each customer to ensure the change happens smoothly and with minimal disruption.
The company has already been operating across multiple terminals in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria for many years. It has also been testing third party terminal logistics in Southeast Queensland since late 2025 to prepare for this transition.
Supporting Long Term Growth
The change supports Freedom Fuels’ broader growth plans, which include expanding its footprint, investing in its team, and building a supply network that can handle market volatility while continuing to deliver competitive pricing.
Freedom Fuels has confirmed it will remain closely engaged with customers in the lead up to February 2026, providing clear communication and support to ensure confidence throughout the transition.
