Cairns fast food outlet: Mobile service station looking for tenant

CAIRNS’ newest service station is on the hunt for a fast food operator in a location sure to catch plenty of hungry motorists heading home each evening.

CBRE agent Karen Stabile said the new Mobil site would suit a “quality fast food outlet” which would have little to no competition in the area.

The application for the development initially listed Hungry Jack’s as a prospective tenant however developer Peter Williams last year said the franchise was no longer being courted for the 160sq m space.

“This is a high-profile position, located on busy Sheridan St providing excellent traffic exposure with an average of 25,000 vehicles passing the site daily,” Ms Stabile said.

“This service station will be the first one located on the outbound traffic route from the Cairns CBD.

“We are looking for a dedicated food operator that has passion and loves what they do. Surrounded by a large residential development, walking distance to both the Cairns public and private hospitals, not to mention the high concentration of professional services, there is a definite requirement for a drive through operator to capture this market and service their requirements.

“The right operator will be able to take advantage on the minimal competition and the immediate demand for a quality fast food outlet.”

Service stations across the city are experiencing mixed fortunes with food sales.
