Bulk fuel company diversifies, sets future growth ambitions

Bulk fuel solutions company Mega Fuels is expanding into the retail space with the opening of its first service station in Rocklea, Brisbane.

The Australian-owned and operated supplier, which also operates its own B-souble fleet, says the 1384 Ipswich Road location is the first in a planned rollout of Mega fuel stations along the eastern seaboard.

Its transition into retail fuel follows its operation supplying bulk fuel for a number of years.

It underwent a phase of acquisitions throughout 2019, it says, taking control of a number of fuel distribution companies to bolster its bulk fuel distribution capabilities and establish a network that can support the retail rollout.

The opening is set for Saturday, July 20.

“It is a great day for MEGA to finally have our first outlet open,” CEO Garth Anderson says.

“It has been a long time in the planning stages and it is something we’ve been eagerly anticipating.

“Now the first service station is open the challenge is to continue to grow from here.

“MEGA has become synonymous with race fans through our sports sponsorships – and while many are benefitting from our bulk fuel supply, those consumers that don’t have a usage for bulk fuel can now fill up with our premium products.

“Our aim is to bring discounted premium diesel and ULP to everyday Australians so that in the end the consumer is the big benefactor.”

Mega has the capacity to supply ethanol based fuel, unleaded, premium unleaded, diesel, marine and aviation fuel, it says.

It can also install bulk storage tanks with electronic solutions for multi-user workplaces – such as regional councils – or associations.
