A 24-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly robbed a Lavington service station at gunpoint.
Police allege the man entered a service station on Travelstop Way, Lavington, threatened the attendant with a firearm and demanded money about 4.40am on Saturday June 12.
The man stole cash and cigarettes, before leaving the scene on a black motorcycle.
No shots were fired, and no one was physically injured during the incident.
Officers attached to Murray River Police District were notified and a crime scene was established.
Following extensive inquiries, the man, who was arrested in Wodonga on Tuesday, was extradited to NSW on Wednesday and taken to Albury police station where he was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, and tamper with evidence.
He was refused bail to appear in Albury Local Court on Thursday.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said no charges had been laid in relation to the Wodonga service station robbery.
“Our inquiries are still ongoing in relation to the Wodonga service station robbery,” the spokeswoman said.
