Police Investigate Stabbing and Robbery in Adelaide’s West

South Australian Police are investigating two separate incidents that unfolded in Adelaide’s western suburbs on Tuesday night—one involving a stabbing, the other a robbery.

At around 8pm, a 29-year-old man suffering a chest injury approached paramedics at a petrol station on Tapleys Hill Road, Seaton. The ambulance crew had been refuelling when the man arrived to seek help.

The injured man, who is from Adelaide, was transported to hospital and is currently receiving treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Early enquiries suggest the individuals involved in the stabbing know each other, though few details have been released. Police have confirmed the assault did not occur at the petrol station and say the investigation is still in its initial stages.

A police spokesperson said they are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and are following several lines of enquiry.

Just under two hours later, emergency services responded to a separate call-out in Thebarton following reports of a robbery at a service station on Port Road.

At approximately 10pm, a man allegedly entered the station, threatened a staff member, and fled with the cash register. No injuries were reported.

A police dog team was dispatched and tracked a scent to an industrial area on Smith Street. Officers recovered the stolen till, which had not been opened, and continued tracking through the area.

The police dog, Chaos, located the suspect on nearby George Street. A 24-year-old man from Torrensville was arrested at the scene.

He has been charged with robbery and refused police bail. He is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Police praised the efforts of the dog team, noting their swift work in locating both the stolen property and the suspect.
