New Emergency Services Document for NSW Service Stations

We are excited to announce an important update that simplifies safety compliance and improves emergency response readiness for hazardous facilities. Following recent consultations with Fire Rescue NSW (FRNSW), local councils, and Safe Work, a decision has been made to merge key safety documents into one comprehensive and user-friendly package.

Why the Change?

Emergency response teams, including FRNSW, have highlighted the need for clearer, streamlined information to enhance safety during incidents. The Hazmat Manifest Plan, previously submitted as part of emergency lodgements, has been deemed insufficient in meeting the evolving needs of emergency responders. Instead, a new Emergency Services Information Package (ESIP) will now encompass all relevant safety information in a single, cohesive format.

This change aims to:

– Simplify Access: Emergency responders can quickly find critical details without navigating through redundant documents.

– Improve Clarity: Consolidating information reduces duplications and enhances the effectiveness of safety protocols.

– Increase Efficiency: A unified document ensures faster updates and easier compliance for all stakeholders.

What’s Included in the New Package?

The Emergency Services Information Package (ESIP)  will merge the following documents:

1. Hazmat Manifest Plan

2. Fire & Rescue NSW Emergency Services Information Package

3. Incident Reporting Protocols

This updated document will meet safety and compliance requirements for hazardous facilities, to ensure swift approvals through FRNSW, whilst incorporating Council, Safework and EPA requirements.

When Does This Rollout Begin?

The new Emergency Services Information Package will officially launch on Monday, 3rd February. This change applies to all service stations operating in New South Wales classified as hazardous facilities.
