Cigar Robbery at Service Station Leads to Arrest

A man faces charges of aggravated robbery after reportedly stealing cigars from a service station in Mount Barker last night.

The incident occurred at the Rainbird Drive service station around 9:20 PM on Wednesday, June 12. The suspect allegedly threatened the staff with a piece of broken glass before taking the cigars.

Although the attendant was understandably shaken, they were not physically harmed.

Police quickly gathered a description of the suspect and began searching the area. Within an hour, they found and arrested the suspect nearby.

The 30-year-old man from Mount Barker did not request bail and is scheduled to appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court later today.
