Police have charged an 18-year-old East Brisbane man today following investigations into alleged robbery and stealing offences in South Brisbane in February.
Police will allege the first incident occurred at an Ipswich Road, Annerley service station on Sunday February 20 around 3.30am, where the man attempted to steal a vehicle before assaulting its occupant several times, striking him in the face.
The victim sought refuge within the store, with the man allegedly giving chase.
Police further allege the man jumped the counter and stole a quantity of cigarettes, before fleeing on foot southbound on Ipswich Road.
The second incident occurred two days later on Tuesday February 22 around 1pm at a Grey Street, South Brisbane business where it is alleged the same man pushed his way to the front of shop queue before stealing a quantity of cigarettes and fleeing on foot.
Investigations led police to identify the 18-year-old who was today charged with attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle, attempted robbery, receiving tainted property, fraud and three counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence. He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
