NSW HEALTH has listed the BP service station at Narrabri as a casual contact venue, with police putting the delay down to contract tracers being given incorrect information.
Anyone who visited the venue between 8 to 8:05pm on Tuesday, September 7 is required to get a test and self-isolate until they receive a negative result.
The site is currently the only possible exposure location identified, and has since undergone a deep clean.
The Oxley Police District has stated officials were initially given incorrect information, which meant they were unable to name the site earlier.
“The delay was due to incorrect information being supplied to the contact tracers, later verified by investigations conducted by Narrabri Police with the full cooperation of the venue,” it stated.
“It remains the role of the NSW Police Force to protect the community, including the publication of factual information when it is received.”
Everyone in the Narrabri community and surrounds are being urged to get tested if they show even the mildest of symptoms.
It has also been revealed the person in Narrabri who tested positive for COVID-19 had been working at a construction site, which has now been cleaned.
The site has been closed until all other workers return a negative result.
That location has not been listed as a venue of concern as authorities are confident all contacts have been identified and accounted for.
